Dear Apple: Your mail-clients are broken

A copy of your message for reference:
please would you be so gently and correct your "iPhone"-product
in a way that a user will get a message if smtp-authentication
is disabled and the server rejects?
EVERYTIME a customer gets a new iPhone the same tragedy
- the phone does NOT configure smtp-auth as default
- the phone does NOT tell the user something is wrong
- the phone tries to send the same message every 5 minute
- the phone DOES NOT show the user the server-message
below the reject message of our machine and today a single customer was rejected 1632 times until now without any information, last year we had a customer with a iPhone that tried from 2010-09 until it was stolen middle of 2011-01 - *** this is not normal and really apple-clients the only with such a crappy attitude
BTW: the desktop-mail-app is also crappy
- stop copy 1.7 GB messages to drafts folder until the server crashs
- stop retry the 1.7 GB message if the server comes back
- even if you change password on the server and the client has alive connections he will copy the draft-message again until the last serverprocess has died
- wonderful, the whole iMac is unuseable too, the user has no way to stop this and in a gigabit-ethernet-lan 1.7 GB are very fast transmitted, normally the client should warn the user about selecting the wrong attachment because no mailserver out there will accept single-messages with such sizes
- stop creating different folders on imap-servers with different clients / versions, nobody needs Inbox (account-name), Inbox.... it would be enough call it simply "Inbox" and change the UI-view in the hope the mail-app knows which inbox belongs to which account and the same for Sent, Drafts, Trash
- stop defaulting to NTLM-auth (NT LAN Manager)
- stop leave the client on NTLM even if the server rejects
- START giving your customers helpful messages if something goes wrong instead thinking you applications are smart, they were never smart and i fear they will never be, the are only something beautiful and nice for low-brained users, but there are users out here (really!) who have their own brain and like apple-products for whatever reason
- STOP to decide what information the user needs for him
EVERYTIME if any client is flooding the logs or having other troubles he is using a Mac or iPhone, why this does never happen with thunderbird or even outlook 2007/2010?
